Solutions/Beverage Solutions/Drink-ITŪOn this page an overview of Drink-ITŪ, our beverage and brewery software solution
Drink-ITŪ is an advanced and modular software suite of programmes that is intended mainly for producers and distribution centers in the drinks industry, such as breweries. It enables them to encompass the integral management of the company with only one programme (ERP package). Each customer can order whatever modules they require, such as Excise Management, Empty Goods Management, Discounts & Promotions, Telesales, Shipping Matrix, Point of Sale, Rent & Loans, Manufacturing and Quality Management in accordance with his requirements. Drink-ITŪ is built on the platform of Microsoft Business Solutions Navision. As a result of the detailed excise duties module, Drink-IT is ideal not only for alcoholic beverages, but also for any other products that are subject to excise duties, such as mineral oils or tobacco. Drink-ITŪ is built on the platform of Microsoft Business Solutions Navision. This means that the programme is perfectly compatible with all other Microsoft applications, such as Outlook, Excel or Access, and can therefore be integrated seamlessly into almost any existing business environment. Microsoft had internationally recognized the product as an official application (vertical). Drink-ITŪ is currently being used by clients such as Duvel-Moortgat (Belgium), Hardys & Hansons (UK) and Ommegang (USA). topOne of the modules that has served as a starting point in the development of Drink-ITŪ is the module relating to excise duties. Lots of companies that produce or distribute goods that are subject to excise duties have great difficulty in treating this highly complicated and international matter in a simple manner in applications such as accounting, stock management or marketing objectives. This module allows an inventory to be complied of all kinds of excise duty products, such as beverages, tobacco of coffee, and very specific calculations to be made on the basis of the statutory parameters. These parameters vary, of course, in accordance with the rapidly changing legislation of the country in which the client is based. Thus, in the Belgian version of Drink-ITŪ, for example, packaging charges, ecotaxes, etc. have to be taken into account. This module also allows the weekly excise duty return to be calculated simply ACC4 used in Belgium and a monthly excise duty return called a EX46 for the UK. topModule 2 Empty Goods Management The module for the accurate listing and accounting processing of empty bottles, cases, casks and kegs is extremely important for the drinks sector. In order to keep major fluctuations in the inflow and outflow in check and control both the financial and the production parameters involved, it is essential to be able to draw up a precise account of affairs at any given time. The software of Drink-ITŪ takes direct account of the calculation of empty goods, in both sales and purchasing. This is absolutely necessary in order to be able to take the correct value and the available stock of empty bottles properly into account, both inside and outside the company. The module also manages the charging and crediting of deposits for the empty goods. topModule 3 Discounts and Promotions It is very common in the drinks sector that a number of one-off, temporary or permanent discounts or promotions are offered to buyers and end consumers. These include both direct and financial reductions, which are expressed in fixed amounts or percentages, and all kinds of free goods, gadgets and incentives. Café owners, for example, receive a free barrel of beer and ten T-shirts from the brewery if they sell 50 barrels of beer per month. Of course, all these parameters have to be entered and monitored very carefully, because they are related to a large amount of other data: stock, excise duties, empty bottles, invoicing, accounting, etc. This module of Drink-ITŪ allows all the variables relating to discounts and promotions to be automatically adapted and calculated. For promotions it handles buy one get one free, buy an assortment of products and get a choice of different products free, etc. topThis is a powerful module of Drink-ITŪ that allows you to contact your customers at fixed times in order to take orders. The operator in the call centre sits in front of a touch screen on which all of the products and quantities can be indicated very simply. The great advantage of this is that the customer has a short, fixed response time and that the margin or error in the orders is greatly reduced. From an ergonomic perspective, a separate screen has been designed for both left and right-handed telephone operators. Of course, this sales modules is linked to the other processes in the company: production, empty goods, deposits, discounts and promotions, transportation, accounting, etc. All other variables are thus immediately adjusted in accordance with the new orders. topThis Drink-ITŪ module allows you to coordinate the planning of the local transportation with your own means of transport in a very simple manner. The programme knows the maximum capacity of all goods vehicles and calculates, in accordance with the delivery schedule, which goods should be placed on which vehicle and in which order. It also takes account of the maximum permitted load, so that if there is excess load, the orders can be spread out. The final decision in this logistical planning is taken by the coordinator himself, who can decide to very simply change the schedule, for example, if a particular customer requires an express shipment. topThe screen of this IPos module looks similar to the telesales touch screens, with a detailed overview of all available products, quantities, promotions, etc. This screen has been designed as a till for the direct points of sale (POS). The system is linked to a database, so once again all the other parameters, such as discounts and promotions, empty goods, invoicing, stock management, etc., are calculated automatically. Instead of entering the purchased articles on the screen, there is also the option of a barcode scanning system. This module is also ideal for checking the daily takings at the end of the day and drawing up the stock planning for the following days. Various means of payment, such as Proton, Bancontact, Visa, luncheon vouchers, cash or coupons, may be linked to this module. topThis module consists of three components: building management, cellar management and leasing (rent) and loan management. Building management consists or the short and long-term maintenance of the entire infrastructure and installations. What is known as cellar management relates primarily to providing customers, such as catering businesses, with technical support. Pipes that have to be cleaned rejected goods that have to be sent to the lab for inspection, licences that have to be issued for the buildings. The component for leasing and loans allows complete management of this aspect. Lots of breweries lease premises to tenants of pubs, bars and restaurants. This entails important parameters such as tenancy agreements, indexations, guarantees, purchase obligations, loan of furnishings, credit management, etc. Once again, other modules, such as invoicing or discounts may be linked to this. topThis module allows the entire production process to be controlled on the basis of the Drink-ITŪ programme, enhancing the effectiveness of the entire process, from the purchasing of the raw materials to the packaging of the end product. This modules is primarily for stock planning, technical management and capacity planning of the various vessels used in the brewing process installations. The system also manages the lot traceable raw materials, intermediate products and if required finished products. For shop floor data capture a touch screen, single menu entry input program is available for entry of stock issues, final production movements, in-process tests and the processing of each operation. Production losses are also recorded as an integral part of the processing of each production order which may be a single order for a single brew to package or split into multiple orders to handle splitting a wort stream into multiple end products. topThis relates to the registration of user definable, in-process, quality measurements in the production process for the intermediate and finished produced goods and the initial quality testing of ingredients as part of the receipting process. It only registers in real time the quality measurements of the daily production and focuses on the traceability of the products. This package is, of course, once again also linked to other parameters such as excise duties, stock management, etc. Linked to the production module but can be purchased separately. top |
